JAAS

In 2011 I was working on a project composing music for improvisors. I called it Johan Arnold Arrias Solo [J.A.A.S] with the ambition of writing a solo piece alongside compositions for ensembles of varying size and instrumentation. The quintet Jaas was in 2012 gathered to perform the ensemble pieces and therebye the group was formed. And the name stuck (and has got nothing to do with Swedish military air crafts). The quintet soon got a life of it’s own, also improvising totally free, and has since 2012 toured sweden. And now, finally, recordings made in 2012 are released! Slowly rocking consists of four pieces. Two of them are semi-composed and two are freely improvised.
